As Associate Director, Site Portfolio, Joaquín helps to develop and nurture strong relationships with government staff, community, and civil society leadership to develop and implement large-scale ocean conservation projects across the Alliance’s portfolio of sites. Before joining the Alliance, he practiced natural resources law and more recently oversaw the National Directorate of Marine Protected Areas at the Argentine National Parks Administration where he helped to designate and implement offshore marine protected areas and develop marine conservation policy at a national level. Joaquín holds a Bachelor of Laws at the Catholic University of Argentina and a Master of Laws at the University of New South Wales of Australia. In his free time, Joaquin enjoys surfing, kitesurfing and being outdoors.
